Magnetic parts

High magnetic capabilities

The homogeneity and isotropy resulting from powder metallurgy on the products allows them to have higher magnetic capacities than parts made in a conventional way. Sintering, which is an integral part of the process, allows, with the appropriate choice of parameters, to favour the most appropriate crystalline structure for good magnetic behaviour.
Geometry

The shape of a part made with the Scanpac® process is given by the compression tool, a more flexible and economical solution compared to a thin sheet metal part.
Modular composition

Improving the magnetic performance of an iron-based electromagnet often involves enriching the ferritic structure with complementary materials (silicon, phosphorus, cobalt, etc.) This enrichment, which is only possible at the margin with traditional metallurgical processes, can be achieved in powder form with, for example, Fe-Si 6% compositions already available.
Density

Parts made with the Scanpac® process are highly dense (>99%).
